Operation Lifesaver Names New State Coordinators in Seven States and the District of Columbia
WASHINGTON, DC, September 7, 2022 – Eight new leaders are in place for rail safety non-profit Operation Lifesaver, Inc. (OLI) state programs, according to OLI Executive Director Rachel Maleh. The new state coordinators will serve in Alaska, the District of Columbia, Florida, Kansas,Louisiana, Maryland, Nebraska and Nevada – bringing the total number of state Operation Lifesaver programs to 47 states plus Washington, DC.
Operation Lifesaver, which this year celebrates the 50th anniversary of its founding in 1972, is a non-profit public safety education and awareness organization dedicated to reducing collisions, fatalities and injuries at highway-rail crossings and preventing trespassing on or near railroad tracks.
“OLI welcomes our newest state coordinators and applauds their commitment to making their communities safer,” said OLI Executive DirectorRachel Maleh. “State Coordinators manage rail safety outreach and education throughout their states – and are an integral part of helping to #STOPTrack Tragedies.”
