According to FRA statistics, 2,250 highway-rail grade crossing collisions occurred in 2024. There were 270 crossing fatalities and 748 crossing injuries in 2024 across the U.S. Approximately 83% of all 2024 highway-rail grade crossing collisions occurred in these states.
